Sadly, trauma is all too often part of life.
It is what we do with that expierence, that will leads us to the path forward.

Trauma
There is probably nothing more personal and private than gathering the courage to ask for help with mental illness caused by trauma. Seeking help is more acceptated in today's society than in years past, stimas associated with needing help with mental health are far less.
Trauma can take many forms, and can leave you feeling isolated from friends and family. Trauma is not something you "just get over".
It is something you carry along with you in life, unfortunately the load of that burden of keeping that secret only gets heavier with each passing day. Unresolved traumas in our lives robs us of the life we deserve. It keeps us isolated and ashamed for something we had no control of and have zero resposinbilty for.
But yet we willing pay the price for it each day by suffering in silence. That is why it is so important you take that next step and reach out for help!
Addiction
Addiction is typically a systom of a problem which exists in our lives. As humans we will try to stop pain at all costs. This very thing is what can develop into an addition. If we have trauma, a tragic loss, stress, or just a predisposition to addiction. There certainly are studies supporting heretity as a risk factor. Drug and alcohol addiction on one or both sides of your family tree, has shown higher risks for future chemical dependancy and abuse. Getting help for addition has always been an important thing to do. But with the introduction of such lethal synthetic drugs on the streets today, your next high likely could be your last. There is an epidemic of opiod related overdoses in all cities, not just inner cities. It srikes rich families and poor, college campuses and high schools, it it a indisriminant killer. When seeking help for addiction it is common for therapists and councelors to have struggled with addition in their lives too. For most that is why they want to help those still struggling with addiction. Recovery is a gift that is well worth working towards. Many of those in recovery feel compelled to share with others, what was freely given to them. It is also looked at as a brotherhood/sisterhood of likeminded people who stop at nothing to stay in a state of recovery.
